Happy Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday. It was the happiest birthday since last my late wife said “Happy Birthday”, 44 years ago.

I was feeling much more than usually depressed and so I said (without any sound) “Dear Lord, Help!” and he said (without any sound) “Cry”. And so I cried. And cried. And felt much better after.

Imagine a two year old who is terrified of crying – the parents did not like the noise. Imagine a two year old who is sheds no tears – the parents take it as reproach and they do not accept reproach.

Religion

Religion is not about God, that is only the horse it rides on.

Religion is about Power. It is a form of government that the people should have abolished long ago.

Theocracy is inherently totalitarian, one Pope, Guru, Founder or Dogma Committee, with no responsibilities, no restraints and no guidance from reality.

The period of religion’s rule in much of Europe is known as the Dark Ages.

The fact that an Ayatollah is the arbiter of all things religious and political is the problem in Iran.

Gay

I knew that I was Gay before I was five, even though I had no clue that Gay was anything that a person could be!

Evolutionary Psychologists propose that behavior that can reduce the chance of the individual’s survival, such as extreme altruism, may enhance the survival of his genes when this behavior enhances the survival of enough of his close relatives. Just as the animal body may be seen as a group of single-celled organisms a larger group of animals may become the unit of survival for evolutionary purposes. My thesis is that a group of maybe forty people could benefit substantially from the inclusion of a few independent persons that are free to explore, experiment and ponder because they have no parental nor spousal responsibilities. So that we “propagate” by being an advantage to the larger group; the apparent constancy of the “10%” throughout history tells me that Homosexuality is in the Human genome.

I like to imagine that the first person(s) that tamed fire were Gay.

I attribute homophobia to the fact that, having some freedom to think, we are a danger to the religious hierarchies, who have built homophobic hysteria upon the unconscious jealousy of freedom and fear of difference that plague every people. Note also that the religious hierarchies have drawn homosexuals into themselves, saying in effect, “join our inner circle, where we can control and hide you, or be condemned”. And have ruled that even a hint that gays and pedophiles in the Church are ever anything but celibate is blasphemy.

god ≠ God

There is no power higher than the Laws of Physics, which are never violated and allow no exemptions.

But there is, in the Human brain, a source of wondrous healing dreams: forgiveness – redemption, renewal – rebirth, acceptance – welcome to the world.  This source is more ancient, more organic and more instinctive than consciousness, which gives it the aura of a higher power and insights that consciousness has missed.

Listen, in a quiet place, with no expectations, very quietly, and you may hear something ineffable.

I was reading Wm James “The Varieties of Religious Experience” and noticed that he actually said, almost a century ago, that the problem is not with the personal experiences, but with the theology and the hierarchy.

The Church of Rome is the greatest evil the world has seen, and all for the glory of Popes.

There are too many people on this planet, by an order of magnitude. Would this have been without the churches’ hunger for ever more slaves, tithes? I claim that long term overpopulation is the root cause of global warming; we already know that it is a cause of famines.

Changing Direction

Just now I have changed the title, picture and announcement to a completely different subject.The project was not proceeding online so it is now only in my office.

I need someplace to shout at the crazies who threaten my freedoms – some have become terrorists in the name of fighting terrorism, others have been made evil by their belief in Gawd.

I want my civil liberties and freedom from religion back!

Screwing around

Very long time since I posted but I made changes to a lot of little things that I expect to change back.

I am hoping to get back to all this, real soon now.

A Page is up!

With considerable effort the first page of the project, which was written some days ago in a word processor, has now been installed.

Another new theme, with sidebar on the right and variable width, has been chosen.

Ms Clinton claims more experience but what this country needs is more inexperience, a president who can say “what the heck is that?” instead of just “carry on!”.
